Reflective Blog #2 - Week 2

So.......What is the meaning of educational technology? After exploring resources to define and developing your digital concept map, what does it mean to you? Think back to the philosophy you drafted last week, do they align?
Watch these two videos - what are your thoughts? Are we on the right track?
First I must apology about the first week reflection…I thought we were just reading the reflection-to reflect from the week. I lost some points… but, I think this week I will do it right.
I feel my concept map align with my philosophy. The map sites were good examples-I tried to be creative, hopefully you will understand that my definition is connected to everything shown.
The first video was overwhelming. It made me sad. We are behind and own track at a slow pace.
Regarding the second video I feel it is all true; however I think the change is being hindered/limited by administrative decisions, teachers that do not embrace change, no passion and laziness.
I am about to graduate and this is one of the last elective I have chosen. It is the hardest class in my Master’s program. I’m struggling to get through creating a basic blog-no special effects and I am 48. My daughter 22 at UNT can do it all-my space, face book, twitter, IPod etc… Posting an image on my blog has been my most challenge other than the blog itself. I am over whelmed. I thought it was my new job but it’s doing/learning something I have no clue about.
FYI: the ETEC@TAMU is very nice.

My Technology Philosophical

Students many times are misunderstood and my belief is that I could help them change that negative thought while teaching. I have seen success in my classroom management style, train, study and work.
A great teacher is a listener and one who engages with students from the heart and wants success for them. I want students to learn to use knowledge in and out of the class room.
An educator – that is who I am.
Finally, technology is incorporated in all forms of my lesson planning. As an Informator I choose to be technology integrated as an educator and in my own life.
